Joseph M. "Joey" Hohler

Joseph M. "Joey" Hohler, 68 of Bellevue passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the Bellevue Hospital with his brothers and sister by his side.

He was born September 2, 1954, in Port Clinton, Ohio and was a 1972 graduate of Monroeville High School and EHOVE.

Joey also attended Terra Tech Community College. Joey was the maintenance technician at Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum in Bellevue for over thirty years. Prior to this, he was employed at WSOS Community Actions in Fremont for ten years.

He enjoyed music, having an extensive collection and eclectic knowledge of albums obtained over his lifetime. Joey enjoyed teaching himself to play guitar, watching movies, and was eager to self-educate about whatever he was interested in through correspondence courses and his vast collection of books. He thoroughly enjoyed everything about trains, often going on Mad River railroad excursions and collecting railroad memorabilia.

He is survived by three siblings, Lisette (Kenneth) Post of Fremont, Stephen W. Hohler of Berlin Heights, and Gerald E. (Kelly) Hohler of Bailey Lakes, Ohio; two nieces, Elizabeth Hohler and Sophia Hohler; and one nephew, Theodore Hohler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rita J. (Landoll) Hohler on June 20, 2022, and Joseph C. Hohler on September 27, 2022; and two siblings, Michelle Hohler and Wayne Hohler.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. There will also be a visitation from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2022, in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in care of the family to help with funeral expenses.
