Deacon Estell Amison, Jr.

Deacon Estell Amison, Jr., 74, Sandusky, peacefully joined his Heavenly Father in Firelands Regional Medical Center on November 24, 2022.

He was born in Itta Bena, Mississippi, on December 9, 1947, to the late Estell Amison, Sr. and Ida Lee Amison.

They moved to Sandusky in 1952. He was a 1967 graduate of Sandusky High School. Estell was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army and was an Ohio National Guardsman. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the AMVETS. He was a good and faithful servant of the Lord through his church, Ebenezer Baptist Church. He retired from Norfolk Southern railroad and enjoyed gardening, cooking and helping and feeding others.

Estell leaves to cherish his memories a devoted friend, Dora Childress; brothers, Clinton and Howard Amison, both of Columbus, OH, and Joseph (Laura) Amison of Hopewell, VA; sisters, Georgia, Mable, Nancy, Donnie (Dee Dee) Amison all of Columbus, OH, Darlene (Lynne) Amison of Sandusky, OH, Carrie Rhone of Prince George, VA; Devoted family, Willie, Isavelt and Kat Amison; devoted friends, Lewis (Fuzz) Page, Charles Wheeler, Theodis Beckum and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Christene Amison-Smith and Allene Jeanette Amison and a brother, Samuel Lee Amison.

Family and friends may call 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12:00 P.M., on Saturday, December 10, 2022, in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky.

Minister Janice W. Warner will officiate and Pastor Clayton Eugene Howard will deliver the Eulogy with cremation to follow
