Kelvin McKillips

Kelvin McKillips, 62, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kelvin was born on January 14, 1960 in Sandusky to Darrell and Phyllis (Becraft) McKillips.

He graduated from Sandusky High School and was a graduate of 1978. He was employed as a welder at Mack Iron for 42 years. Kelvin was a member of the Huron Conservation Club and the Metallica Fan Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending Heavy Metal Concerts, all things Jeep, hunting, and fishing. He was a die hard Browns Fan, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Klara, Kolten, Kaleb, Eliza, and Lincoln, as well as his Cat, Ozzy.

Kelvin is survived by his wife, Kim (Pankow) McKillips, whom he married on May 23, 1980; parents, Darrell and Phyllis McKillips; children, Kristin (Max) Upton and Kari (Spencer) Clemens; brothers, Charlie (Dena) and Todd (Andrea) McKillips; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; his Mack Iron family; and special friends, Bob and Tammy Rieger.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Allen McKillips; grandparents, Elizabeth and Melbourne McKillips and Ernie and Callie BeCraft; and other family.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 11 A.M. at Faith Church, 1320 E. Strub Rd., Sandusky, with Pastor Tom Groot presiding. At the family's request please wear your favorite concert or sport team shirt and blue jeans!

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to Kelvin 's memory may do so to Stein Hospice or Cancer Services of Erie County.
