Ronald E. Braden, Sr.

Ronald E. Braden, Sr., 86, born and raised in Collins, OH, passed away, Monday, December 5, 2022, at Admiral's Pointe in Huron and under the care of Stein Hospice.

Ron was born on November 23, 1936, in Collins, OH, to the late Roy Lewis Braden, Sr. and Wonita M. (Elmer) Braden.

Ron proudly served his country between 1955 - 1959 as a member of the United States Marine Corp. He was a dedicated employee for U.S. 20 Auto Parts for more than 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and building intricate model barns. His former wife was his best friend, and they were inseparable. Ron spent as much time as possible with his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his children, Mark (Reva) Braden of Norwalk, Anna (Brian) Mingus of Norwalk, Curtis (Lorie) Braden of Clyde, and Ronald Braden, Jr., of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; siblings, Donna Tharp of Brewster, Sharon Goodrich of Collins, Linda Evans of Collins, Dale (Irene) Braden of Norwalk, Keith Braden of Collins, Billy (Chris) Braden of Collins, and Darrell (Kathy) Braden of Collins, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his former wife and best friend, Penny Braden; siblings, Roy Braden, Bobby Braden, and Sue Smith, and grandson, Christopher Braden.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 1 pm to 4 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Pastor Charles Conrad will be presiding. Military honors and a graveside service will follow at Collins Cemetery.
