Willie Mae "Billie" Wilson

Willie Mae "Billie" Wilson, 80, Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Sunday, December 4th, 2022.

Billie was born October 5th, 1942 in Nashville, TN to Willie H. and Margaret (Buchanan) Wilson; the last born of three daughters. Billie moved to Sandusky, OH with her family at an early age, where she attended the Sandusky City School system.

Billie was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at W.T. Grant, Mr. Wiggs, and Action Auto. She later worked for the City of Sandusky at the police department, and the Erie County Courthouse until her retirement.

Anyone familiar with Billie was aware of her loud, fun, and boisterous demeanor. She was quick to speak her mind, and never treated anyone as if they were a stranger. Billie had the most generous heart, and would share everything she had, rather large or small, without any questions asked. One would usually be able to find Billie at the lottery counter, playing her daily numbers or purchasing her beloved "scratch-offs".

Billie was an amazing aunt, neighbor, and friend to all. She leaves to cherish her memory nieces: Constance "Connie" Beverly, Jacquelyn "Dee" Hicks, Deborah (Donald) Robinson, and Rochelle (Elijah, Jr.) Wooten all of Sandusky; nephews: Kelly (Andrea Webb) Jones and Rodney Hicks of Sandusky, Charles A. (Kim) Jones of Elyria, OH, Timothy E. Jones of Norwalk, OH, and Terrance (Brenda) Hicks of Trotwood, OH; special cousin Ted (Rita) Leftwich of Nashville, TN; dear friends and neighbors: J.D. Keahey and Lillie Nickelson; her adored puggle, whom she loved as her child, Buster; and a host of other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; sisters Gloria W. Jones and Alexine (Jack) Hicks; nieces, Candace Y. Garrett and Tryna R. Jones-Bagley; and nephew, Darryl W. Hicks in infancy; and dear friend Lucille Madison.

Friends may call on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 1 P.M. until time of a short service of remembrance at 3:30 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
