Virginia Dale Taylor

Virginia Dale Taylor, 80, Sandusky, a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, transitioned peacefully on December 12, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.

Virginia was born on November 23, 1942, in Millry, AL to the late Verda Lee and Carrie Turner.

She was the oldest daughter out of 12 siblings and had many fond memories growing up in her childhood home in "Red Creek" filled with much teasing, love, and laughter. She joined Mt. Zion AME Baptist church at an early age. In May 1958, she married her lifetime sweetheart, David Taylor and their union produced four children.

In 1967, the family moved to Sandusky, OH and shortly after arriving, she joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Virginia worked various jobs but was mostly a dedicated stay at home mother who treasured her children, instilling strong values that influenced them throughout their childhood and into adulthood. She especially enjoyed her role as Granny to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and neighborhood kids.

Virginia is survived by her brothers, AD (Hattie Mae) Millry, Alabama, Ervin (Fannie Y.) Turner Sandusky, Curtis (LaTisha), Bobby Ray (Princess), Terry Lee (Desiree) all of Columbus Ohio, sisters Ethel Mae McKeller Sandusky, Minnie Pearl (Ronnie) Donald, Carrie Mae Frost, Stella (Willie) Sims all of Millry, Alabama. Her children, Charles (Sheila) Taylor, Jerry (Donna) Taylor, John Taylor, Dollie (Dannie) Edmon all of Sandusky. Her grandchildren Tamura, Shaquanda, Sharlisa (Maurice), Angee, Connor, Kyle, Jerry Jr (Milan) Jerron, Dayonna, John Jr, Kirsten (Justin), 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband David Taylor, her parents Verda Lee and Carrie Turner, brothers, Ellis James and Verda Lee Jr. Turner, sister, Annie Mitchell and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. 1920 Eddy Henry Blvd, Sandusky. There will be a wake from 10 A.M. until time of services at 12 P.M. Noon. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. A repast will be held following funeral services at Providence Baptist Church.
