Jerome (Jerry) Dean Fields Sr.

Jerome (Jerry) Dean Fields Sr., 83, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

Jerry was born on January 25, 1939 in Randleman, NC to the late George Loftin and Janie Lee (Riddle) Fields.

Jerry graduated from Greensboro Sr. High School in 1956. He moved to Dundalk, Maryland where he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Lantz, whom he married on October 31, 1959. Jerry relocated his family to Ohio in 1975 to be the General Manager of Lyman Boat Works. Later, he sold insurance for a number of years before serving as Vice President of RestorePro Disaster CleanUp and Restoration from 1999 until his retirement. Jerry enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking, restoring Lyman boats and spending time with family and friends. Papa Jerry and Nanny Pat adored their grandkids.

Jerry was an active and devoted member of the Cedar Point Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He shared at every opportunity, his faith in Jehovah God's promises to end suffering and death through God's Kingdom. Read Revelation 21:3,4

Jerry was devoted to his wife and family, having 3 children who survive him; his daughter, Jennifer (David) Hawa of Hampstead, NC; son, Jerry (Kris) Fields, Jr. of Delta, OH; son, Jon (Monique) Fields of Sandusky, OH and grandchildren, Alec Hawa, Taylor (Jacob) Kopocs, and Jordyn (Shawn) Waldron. Jerry is also survived by 2 sisters, Maxine Thornlow and Katherine Miller.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, a sister, Carleen Kirkman and a brother, Tremaine Fields.

Jerry's memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5014 Hayes Ave., Sandusky, and via videoconference on Zoom. Rusty Zeller will officiate the memorial service. To attend via videoconference, please call 419-656-0428 to obtain the Zoom link. Family and friends are welcome. The family will receive guests at 1:00 PM and the service will begin at 1:30 PM. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
