Robert Eddie "Red" Eskins, Sr.

Robert Eddie "Red" Eskins, Sr. went to be with the Lord on January 2nd, 2023, after a long illness. Red was 77 years old and of the Baptist faith.

Born on June 1st, 1945, in Peck's Mill, West Virginia, he was raised in Sandstone, West Virginia.

Red resided most all his adult life in Bellevue, Ohio. He worked almost 46 years on the N&W then N&S Railroad. Red's job on the railroad created a fondness for trains that he kept even after retiring. When he wasn't working, he was an avid watcher of westerns as well as a fan of old classic country and bluegrass music.

Red was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Alice Robbins-Eskins; his mother, Emmer Irene Eskins-Holland; stepfather, Charles Lester Holland; father, James Davis; and brothers, Leo, Billy and Joe Holland.

Red is survived by his children, Betty Eskins-Burns and husband, James; Robert "Rocky" Eskins, Jr and wife, Dana; daughter Leisa Williams and husband, John; sister, Mary "Peggy" Tabor and husband, David; best friend Ray Stamm; his grandchildren, Cari Burns, Emily Mathias, Erica Eskins, Elaina Chovanec, Zachary Eskins, Cole Eskins, Autumn Halbisen, Shauna Ault, Brittany Rothmann; great grandchildren Paisley, Kinsley, Baron, Maddeline, Sorrell, Rosie, Hoyt, Motley, and Sophia, and leaves behind countless friends as well as many other loving family members.

Some of his interests in his life were learning to drive a semi, running the bulldozer, crane and other big machinery on the railroad. When Red was younger, he enjoyed the bowling league, hunting, and working on cars. He was a big Cleveland Browns football fan and enjoyed being an avid supporter at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events to cheer them on.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 8th from 1pm - 4pm at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 9th at 11am at the funeral home with burial at the Bellevue Cemetery to follow. Pallbearers will be Zach Eskins, Cole Eskins, Jimmy Brooks, Jordan Halbisen, Patrick Ervin, and Jeremy Brant. Services will be conducted by Pastor Daniel Duffy of Providence Baptist Church, which was his children's childhood church.
