Phyllis A. Wilcox

Phyllis A. Wilcox, 90, of Norwalk, passed away, Friday morning, March 24, 2023, at Twilight Gardens Nursing Home.

Phyllis was born in Norwalk, OH, on March 1, 1933, to the late Helen (Babcock) Nestor and Clarence Nestor.

She was a lifelong resident of the Norwalk area and graduated from St. Paul High School. Phyllis was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She worked at Maple City Rubber Company for 20 years as a printer. She retired from Kroger grocery where she worked in the bakery. Phyllis enjoyed collecting owls, Budweiser beer mugs, and angels. She was a very giving person who often gave baby blankets to families welcoming newborns. Her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Debbie Zinn of Monroeville; son, Mark (Jennifer) Austin of Monroeville; grandchildren, Nicole, Miranda, Heidi, Ashley, Jeremy, Bradley, Paul, Michael, and Christopher (Maile); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kennedy, Bransen, David, Michaela, Hayleigh, Colton, Lexi, Callie, Walker, and Wyatt; sister, Shirley Howard of Homosassa, Florida; brother, Charles (Becky) Nestor of Bellevue; good friends, Karen and David Higgins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her former husbands, John Austin, and Fred Wilcox; stepdaughter, Gail Wilcox-Lee; grandson, Ryan Austin; sister, Janice (George) Bixby; son in-law, Robert Zinn; brother-in-law, Miles Howard; and other close family friend, the late Jeri Lynn Stower.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 12 pm (noon) at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. A procession and burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
