N. Michael "Mick" Schoen

N. Michael "Mick" Schoen, 91, of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at The Bellevue Hospital. He was born November 17, 1931 in West Lodi, Ohio the son of Norbert and Sarah (Gerber) Schoen.

Mick graduated from York High School in 1949. He served in the United States Navy as a seaman on the USS Forrestal during the Korean conflict. Mick was employed by the Whirlpool Corp for over 40 years and retired as Human Resource Labor Coordinator. He was a member of the VFW Post 1238, Eagles Aerie 490 and The American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, The Ohio State Buckeyes and Indians Baseball.

Mick is survived by his second wife, Barbara (Thompson) Schoen whom he married January 24, 1992 in Ashtabula; children: Susan Schoen of Columbus, Michael (Debbie) Schoen of Tiffin, Leigh Ann (Larry Stein) Aigler of Bellevue, Steven (Kathy) Schoen of Bellevue, Patricia Schoen of Columbus, Marc (Marianne) Schoen of Bellevue, Joan (Mark) Kaufman of Bellevue, Daniel (Renee) Schoen of Bellevue and Rodger (Angela) Schoen of Bellevue; stepchildren: Steven (Faye) Miller of Ashtabula and Stacey (Roger) Post of Sugarland, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; siblings, James (Charlene) Schoen of Bellevue, Thomas Schoen of North Ridgeville, Helen Griffin of Marblehead and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mick is preceded in death by his son, Jeffery C. Schoen; brother, Franklin "Skip" Schoen; great grandchild Marley Fry and beloved first wife, Joanne (Gerhardstein) Schoen.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
