John Myers, 85, of Berlin Heights, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at The Meadows at Osborn Park.

He was born on August 26, 1937 in Greenwich, Ohio to Josephine Williams.

He graduated from Milan High School. He was a Veteran of the Army. He married Tonya (Sherer) in 1962. He was employed as a Ford Motor Co for 38 years. John was a member of the Norwalk VFW Post 2743 and Farm Bureau. John loved taking care of his farm and home along with his wife. Together they raised a lot of money for 4-H by starting the Annual Chicken Barbeque Fund Raising Raffle, which is now in its 42nd year. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending his pond as well as taking care of all of Tonya's stray animals.

John is survived by his grandchildren Jessica (Chris) Brink and Jason Myers; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Resor; nephews, Rowdy (Jennifer) Sherer, Randy (Tanya) Sherer, Roddy (Joan) Sherer, Rock (Amy) Sherer, Rory (Juana) Sherer; nieces Marla Sherer and Susan Miller as well as other numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his wife, Tonya (Sherer) Myers in 2022; son, Jamie Myers; nephew Rip Sherer as well as his 11 siblings.

Friends may call on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. On Thursday June 8 visitation will resume at 10 am prior to the funeral service at 11:00 am at Toft Funeral Home, Hinman Chapel, Berlin Heights with Chaplain Mel Sayler presiding. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, Ohio.
