Vincent J. Esposito, 88, residing in Sandusky passed away Saturday afternoon June 10, 2023 at Admirals Pointe surrounded by his family.
Vince was born on September 14, 1934 in Sandusky to the late Salvatore T. and Mary L. (Fiorito) Esposito.
Vince was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany as an Army mechanic during the Korean War. He retired from New Departure Hyatt after 32 years of service as a tinner.
Vince was a member of both Holy Angels Catholic Church and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the Amvets post #17, American Legion post #83, the Sandusky Power Squadron and Cruisin by the Bay Car Club, Car Coddlers of Ohio, having owned 3 classic cars over the years. He enjoyed boating on his Lyman's he owned, going to classic car shows and spending time with his family and friends.
Vince is survived by his wife Shirley (Livermore) whom he married on July 7, 1956, one daughter Lori (Kevin) Keefer of Westerville, OH; three grandchildren Deena Benkey, Mitchell Benkey and Emily (Travis Burson) Schrader; one sister Constance (Aunt Dolly) Amburn of Sandusky; one brother Joseph Esposito of Sandusky; son-in-law Sheldon (Darlene) Benkey of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Including his parents Vince is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Benkey and his brother Nicholas Esposito.
Friends may call on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 4 PM to 7 PM in the Groff Funeral Home and Crematory 1607 E. Perkins Ave. Sandusky, Ohio. Prayers will be recited on Wednesday at 9:30 AM in the Funeral Home followed by a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave. Sandusky, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
