Corrine (Brewer) Opper

Corrine (Brewer) Opper, 85, of Norwalk passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2023, at her residence.

She was born September 9, 1937, in Macon, Georgia.

Corrine was a bus driver for twelve years for Monroeville Public Schools and for Christie Lane School for eighteen years. She was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church, where she was active in many church groups. She also had served as President of the United Methodist Women Group. Corrine was also a member of the Norwalk Eagles, Red Hat Society, and had volunteered at Fisher Titus Hospital, donating a lot of her time driving for the Norwalk Memorial Home and The Carriage House.

Her hobbies included bowling in two leagues, Singer and Thursday AM. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, spending time with family, and watching her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids playing sports.

She is survived by one daughter, Gail Gates of Norwalk, three sons, Gary (Jill) Opper, Glen (Tam) Opper, both of Monroeville, and Gregg Opper of Texas; nine grandchildren, Chris (Leslie) Opper, Heather (Dusty) Pifer, Eric (Stacy) Opper, Sandi (Clint) Poths, Darrell (Lauren) Opper, Shelbe Opper, Hannah (Mike) McNulty, Max Gates, and Carson Gates; eleven great grandchildren, Amelia, Grant, Emily, Abbi, Kaci, Alexus, Kanyon, Riley, Landyn, Kainen, and Oliver; one sister, Betty (Gene) Cusano of Sandusky; two brothers, Wesley (Helena) Brewer of Florida, and Edward (Anita) Brewer of Sandusky; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Max Opper in November of 2018; her parents, Ulin and Emma (Greathouse) Brewer; one great granddaughter, Star Lynn; one daughter-in-law, Janice Opper; five siblings, Emma Ruth Lawton, Josie Bryan, Lillie Kurtz, Mary Ann Sibert, and Larry Brewer.

Friends may call from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm Sunday, August 20, 2023, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Funeral Services for Corrine will be held at 10:30 am Monday, August 21, 2023, August 21, 2023, in the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Pastor Ed Kovacik will officiate. Burial will be in the Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
