Karen Dee (Wood) Streng, 80, residing in Milan, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at her home surrounded in love.
Karen was born on January 31, 1943 in Beaver Falls , PA to the late Donald and Ruth (Rape) Wood.
Karen graduated in 1960 from Zelienople High School, and was a 1964 graduate of Edinboro College, both in Pennsylvania. She completed her Master degree in 1993 from Ashland University and started teaching for Sandusky City Schools in 1964. She became the Director of Special Education at The Northpoint Educational Services Center in Sandusky for 27 years. Karen was also a water fitness teacher at the Rec Center in Norwalk. She was a very active volunteer in Sandusky and the surrounding communities.
Karen was a loving mother and grandmother to all.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Tricia (Danny) Samuel of Perrysburg, son, Brad (Debra) Streng of Sandusky, grandchildren, Kaydee Streng, Aliceon Klotz, Garrick Horton, Carter Samuel, great grandchildren, Julianna, Karleigh, & Emberlyn Klotz, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by husband, Gary Streng in 2013.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 29 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30 at 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Lang presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
