James R. "Jim" Cremean

James R. "Jim" Cremean, 89, of Sandusky passed away Saturday October 7, 2023, in the Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born December 17, 1933, in Logan, Ohio and had lived most of his life in Sandusky.

Jim was a 1951 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was employed at the former New Departure-Hyatt, Division of General Motors for thirty years, retiring in 1982. Jim was a member of the Word of Truth Christian Church in Bowling Green, Ohio. He enjoyed camping and most of all spending time with his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Marjorie L. (McDermott) Cremean; five sons, James E. (Cindy) Cremean of Sandusky, Michael S. (Jackie) Cremean of Vermilion, Randy P. Cremean, Steve (Tina Baum) Cremean, and Jon Cremean, all of Sandusky; seventeen grandchildren, one step grandson, thirteen great grandchildren, one step granddaughter, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Kathern (Starcher) Cremean; one granddaughter in infancy; and one sister, Janet Miller.
At James' request, his body has been donated to the Ohio State University College of Medicine.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the Word of Truth Christian Church, 1163 Napoleon Road, Bowling Green, Ohio. Pastor Jerry Hunt will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 or to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
