Shelby J. Yost, age 70, of Castalia, died Friday evening, May 25, 2012, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 28, 1942, in Simmonds, WV, the daughter of Myrtle and John Hardy. She married Clyde Yost December 18, 1961, and he survives. Shelby graduated from Bramwell High School and received an accounting degree from Terra Tech. She was a member of Wayside Temple, Castalia. Shelby loved to travel and gather with family and friends at Camp Creek, WV, for homecoming time. She loved all of her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Clyde; four sons Rusty (Deb) Yost, Castalia, David (Jennifer) Yost, Bellevue, Brad (Denna) Yost, North Fairfield, and Jeff Yost, Sandusky; nine grandchildren Russell, Carrie, Dakota, Dallas, Katelyn, Emily, Abby, Jenna, and Kayla; three great grandchildren Ethan Browning, Brady Browning, and Russell Fredrick Yost; sister Sue Palmo Phoenix AZ; and several nieces and nephews.

Shelby was preceded in death by her parents John and Myrtle (Smith) Hardy; two brothers Bill and Burton Hardy; and two sisters Betty Thompson and Phyllis Williams.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 29, 2012, until time of services at 12:00 Noon at the Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Ave., Castalia. Pastor Shelby Gillam will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
