Kenneth George Fick

Kenneth George Fick, 93, Castalia, died October 13, 2023, at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

He was born in Port Clinton July 10, 1930, the first child of George F. and Loretta (Schroeder) Fick. He married Gwendolyn Stafford of Oak Harbor on August 27, 1950.

Ken worked for the Matthews Boat Company, Port Clinton, for 29 years, and then for the Danbury Township Trustees 15 years until retirement. He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 and was discharged with the rank of Airman First Class.

He was a member of the Marblehead Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad from 1963 to 1980, where he was instrumental in creating an annual children's Christmas party. Ken belonged to various outdoor clubs during his lifetime and raced Go-Karts across the Midwest for a few years. He also held membership in American Legion Post 555.

Ken is survived by his son, Dean (Karen) of Manassas, Virginia; a sister, Joan (James) Mason of Port Clinton; grandson and granddaughter Logan and Hannah Fick; as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James, and his wife.

Services will be announced at a later date, with private burial at Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
