Louise C. Allen

Louise C. Allen, 88, of Norwalk, died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.

Born on September 3, 1935 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bess (nee Sharen) Ross. Louise was a 1953 graduate of Norwalk High School.

Louise worked for the Norwalk Clinic for over 30 years. She was an active member of St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was part of the 55+ club. Louise enjoyed traveling, especially with her husband to watch the Indians at spring training. She also liked singing karaoke and tending to her plants. Louise had a big heart and an open door and a love that never stopped. Most of all she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her children, Pam Derby, of Norwalk, Cathy (John) Tucker, of Gahanna, Jim (Tammy) Allen, of Port Charlotte, FL, Judi (Rod) Sutherland, of Nova, Sue (Rod) Wilson, of Norwalk, and Bill (Laura) Allen, of Avon; grandchildren, Ken, Jennifer, Michael, Megan, Matt, Emily, Phillip, Alaina, Christa, Kelly, Zach, Ashley, Jake, Bailey, and Nathan; 19 great grandchildren; and a brother, Gerold (Jean) Ross.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, H. Wayne Allen; and siblings Lawrence Ross, Patricia Cambra, Dorothy Goodsite, Bill Ross, Kathleen Burley, Betty Estep, and Mary April.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 20, from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Eastman Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St, Norwalk. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 38 W. League St, Norwalk, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Donations in Louise's memory may be directed to either St. Mary's or to St Vincent De Paul through St. Mary's Church.
