Joanne M. Scally, 77, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Wednesday, November 8, 2023 morning at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Joanne was born on August 31, 1946 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Frank and Josephine (Santoro) LaGrass.
Joanne graduated from Sandusky High School in 1964. She was employed with Famous Supply for forty years and eventually retired from Balconi Monuments in 2018. Joanne was a member of Holy Angels Church, I.A.B. Club Women's Auxiliary. Her greatest joy was her family, spending her retirement traveling, and attending numerous sporting events watching her grandchildren.
Joanne is survived by her son, James (Deborah) Scally of Huron; daughter, Angela (Christopher) Walton of Sandusky; daughter, Teresa Scally of Sandusky; bonus daughter, Tabby Lawrence; fiancé, James Scalia, Jr.; grandchildren, Allison (Cooter), Thane (Bri), Jax, Luke, Marco, Alice and Jude; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Scarlet, James and Charleigh; sister, Paula LaGrass of Sandusky; special niece, Laura Santoro; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by grandson, Jacoby Walton, sister, Francine.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:00 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, OH. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave, Sandusky, OH with Fr. Zach Brown presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sandusky, OH.
