Timothy Aaron Carpenter

Timothy Aaron Carpenter, 52, of Wakeman, went home to be with The Lord following a lengthy health battle Wednesday, November 15, 2023, while surrounded by loved ones, at New Life Hospice.

Tim was born January 2, 1971 in Charleston, West Virginia.

He grew up in Vermilion, a faithful member of Lakeview Baptist Church, and a graduate of the VHS class of 1989. An avid sports lover, Tim played football and wrestled, as well as coached Junior High football for Vermilion Schools, earning him the nickname "Carp/Coach Carp". Tim went on to graduate from the Ohio Broadcasting School, and had a passion for radio. His favorite pastime in recent years was to call in to "The Really Big Show" (AM 850 WKNR Cleveland) as his alter ego, "The Guiding Light," sharing his opinion on local sports, especially his Cleveland Browns. Of all the roles Tim has played in his 52 years, that of "FUNcle Timmy" to his niece, Arabella, and nephew, Asa, was by far his favorite. Tim had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and leaves behind a legacy of living by faith and leaning on God in the lives of his family and friends.

Tim is proceeded in death by his father, Bobby Lee Carpenter; mother, Audra Faye Carpenter; both sets of grandparents; and multiple uncles and aunts. He is survived by his only and younger brother, Greg (Amanda) Carpenter; niece, Arabella Carpenter; nephew, Asa Carpenter; and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. But we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus, those who have fallen asleep in Him." ~1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.

Family and friends may come to call Monday, November 20 from 4 to 6 PM at Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermilion, with Chaplain Jamie Stewart presiding. Funeral services will begin at 6 PM. There will be no graveside service, but loved ones are welcome to stay for refreshments and fellowship following the funeral service. Burial will be in Wakeman Cemetery at a later date.

A GoFundMe account has been set up in Tim's honor to help fund final resting expenses. Donations may be made at the following link, or directly to the family.
