Deacon Leslie Grandberry

Deacon Leslie Grandberry, 86, of Sandusky, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on late Wednesday evening, July 4, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Troy, Alabama on February 13, 1926.

He was employed by the former Armour Fertilizer and Dymond Fertilizer, then the former Brown Industries, and retired from Sterling Castings.

Deacon Leslie was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for over 50 years, was a member of the male chorus, and a devotional leader.

He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Rev. Dr. Louis (Montrose) Grandberry, Lexington, VA, Paul Grandberry, Sr., Earl (Verna) Grandberry, and Wanda Grandberry, all of Sandusky; fifteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LeVert, in 2002; parents, Dave and Mary (DeShazor) Grandberry; two grandchildren, Paul Grandberry, Jr. and Stephanie Grandberry; sister, Lola Baker; and brothers, J.W. Grandberry, Alto Grandberry, and Mozell Grandberry.

Friends may call on Saturday, July 7, 2012, from 3 P.M. until time of funeral services at 5 P.M. in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Eddie Henry Way, Sandusky. Rev. Curtis L. Johnson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
