Laura B. Wessel, age 97, of Norwalk and formerly Port Charlotte, FL, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at Gaymont Nursing Center.
She was born April 10, 1915 in Wilmington, OH to the late Charles and Bessie (Mann) Baker.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary L. Johnson of Norwalk; grandson, William D. Johnson of Norwalk; and granddaughter, Mary C. Ross of TX; sister, Mildred Snyder of Washington Court House, OH; brother, Russell Baker of Washington Court House, OH; and a sister, Betty (Ples) Powers of Hamilton, OH; a niece, Laura Lynn (James) Meyer of Cincinnati; and nephews, Mike, Jeff and Steve Powers and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Wessel; brothers, Albert, Carl, Robert and Charles Baker; and a grandson, Thomas E. Johnson.
She leaves many Florida friends and those friends she made at Gaymont, including the staff and management who gave her such loving care. The family would also like to thank those who cared for her from Stein Hospice.
There will be no visitation or services. Private interment will be at held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be sent to one's favorite charity.
