Mary Jane Josephine (Albinack) Reisig, age 80, passed away on November 29, 2010 in the Memory Care Unit of Kingston, Perrysburg, Ohio from complications related to nine years of Alzheimers and a recent stroke.

Mary was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on December 23, 1929, to Joseph and Rose Albinack. She was raised in Monroe, Michigan and there she married Robert E. Reisig on September 25, 1954. The couple relocated to Norwalk, Ohio where they raised six children and enjoyed 12 grandchildren. Mary was a devoted mother spending countless hours on school projects, sewing, baking sugar cookies for every holiday and bake sale, attending her son's football games and shopping with her five daughters. Mary had an outstanding aptitude for numbers and was a secretary and bookkeeper for the Huron County Soil and Water Conservation District as well as a tax preparer.

After her retirement in 1983, Mary enjoyed walking, working at the election polls, participating in the Fun Time Band and singing (and humming) up until her death.

Although Mary struggled with the increasing frustration of Alzheimers, the disease gave her respite from the pain of losing her husband and eldest child, Pamela Moore of Westerville, to cancer in 2003 and 2007, respectively.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Cathy Nicolosi, Joseph Albinack, and Rosie Cheney.

Mary is survived by her children: Susan (Eric) Bright of Norwalk, Sandra (Richard) Nickoli of Huron, Robert (Suzanne) Reisig of Orlando, Janice (Ronald) Hall of Tiffin and Jacki (Jon) Stedman of Perrysburg. Grandchildren left to treasure her memory, include Jack Moore, Amanda and Nicholas Bright, Mitchell and Craig Nickoli, Kristen, Rachel and Alexa Reisig, Emma and Claire Hall and Paul and Nate Stedman. Mary is also survived by her sister Stella Poskey of Ida, Michigan and brother Thomas Jennings of Adrian, Michigan as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Fred Wiechers, pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church, will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Roselawn Memorial Park in La Salle, Michigan.

Many compassionate individuals cared for Mary while she lived in Perrysburg. Special recognition goes to the outstanding nursing staff, medical assistants and support staff at the Kingston facility for their kindness and professionalism. Thanks to Dr. Michelle Matousek and her office staff for maximizing Mary's quality of life over the past four years and to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their excellent care in the last three months. In lieu of flowers, Mary would have loved for you to take your grandchildren or another loved one out for an ice cream cone. Those wishing to make a formal memorial are asked to consider St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg, Ohio or St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norwalk, Ohio.
