Arthur D. Miller

Arthur D. Miller, 91, of Bellevue passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at his home.

He was born July 15, 1921 in Tiffin, Ohio the son of Aaron and Nina (Biller) Miller. He was employed by Central Soya until his retirement in 1982, and also the owner of A.D. Miller Construction. He married Betty Jane Murphy on April 11, 1942 at First Baptist Church, Bellevue; she preceded him in death in 2007.

Art was a WWII army veteran serving in Europe in the 778th Tank Battalion, 11th Armored Division. He served under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and VFW Post 1238, Bellevue. He enjoyed working around the house as he could fix anything, camping, and spending time with his family. He proudly displayed them American flag continuously for over 65 years

He is survived by his daughters, Arlene (Leo) Missler of Bellevue, Kay (Jerry) Zieber of Bellevue, Peggy (Bill) Plate of Bellevue and Sally (Jim) Hamilton of Perrysburg; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and sister, Barnita Gerber of Bellevue and Juanita Sting of Tiffin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Mary Miller; great grandson, Jax Dougherty; four sisters, Lillian Smith, Naomi Warner, Lucille Shell, Helen Schaaf; and brothers, Ralph, Albert, Aaron, and Boyd Miller.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service,151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where a funeral service officiated by Rev. Dan Howard and Rev. Lee Weiss will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Bellevue City Cemetery with military honors.
