Lorenzo A. Sulpizio

Lorenzo A. Sulpizio, 81, of 1327 Westwood Drive, Lorain, died Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 2013 in The Commons of Providence, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 11, 1931 in Lorain and was a 1949 graduate of Lorain High School. Lorenzo was employed for 46 years at Kobe Steel (formerly U S Steel), retiring in 1996. He also was the owner of the former Al's Landscaping in Lorain. He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain, member and past president of the Lorain High School Athletic Booster Club, and past officer of his Local Union.

He is survived by three daughters: Deborah (Tim) Lee of Lake Orion, MI., Patti (Ron) Leech of Sandusky, and Diane (Jerry) Queen of Crestwood, KY., 13 grandchildren: David (Karen) Lee, Elizabeth (Jon) DeSalvo, Terese (Mark) Galinas, Taryn (A.J.) Mathewson, Ryan (Brittney) Leech, Chad (Stephanie) Queen, Lindsay (Brendon Plack) Lee, Todd (Alexis) Leech, Erin (Ryan) Wrobleski, Rebecca (Michael) Criswell, Kristen (Chris) Moran, Katelyn (Josh) Mellick, Timothy (Kerry) Lee, 16 great grandchildren, one special nephew: Edward Repko of Lorain, one brother-in-law: Raymond Kucharik, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Donna G. Sulpizio in 2010, one granddaughter: Allison Ann Lee, his parents: John & Julia (Scalzetti) Sulpizio, two brothers: Gabriel (Martha) Sulpizio and Albert (Virginia) Sulpizio, four sisters: Carmella (Antone) Truskot, Virginia (Raymond) Milton, Rita Kucharik and Palma (Charles) Repko, and one nephew: John Kucharik.

Friends may call Monday, February 11, 2013 from 10:30 AM until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44053. Father Craig Hovance will officiate. Private family committal services will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Commons of Providence, 5000 Providence Drive, Sandusky, Ohio 44870 or to the Catholic Church of St. Peter.
